Challenge

Northbeam's data team ran a custom Kafka + Debezium + Airflow stack moving 6B events/month from Postgres and MongoDB into Snowflake and BigQuery. Every schema change broke a downstream job; sync lag routinely hit 4–8 minutes.

Stream 12,000 transactions per second into a fraud-detection model with 41ms end-to-end lag.

Challenge

Parametric's fraud model needed sub-100ms features from a Postgres OLTP database. Their previous pipeline peaked at 900ms lag, forcing them to run models on stale data. False positives were up, blocked transactions were rising, and CX complaints followed.

Solution

PRISM streams change events from Postgres directly into Kafka + Redis feature store with exactly-once semantics. Model inference now sees sub-50ms features on every transaction.

The fraud model is only as smart as the data it sees. PRISM finally gave us millisecond-fresh features on every transaction. Our block rate dropped, our CX complaints dropped, and our auditor loved the audit trail.

How does smart delta sync work?+
PRISM uses row-level change-data-capture (log-based CDC where possible) so it moves only rows that changed since the last commit. Combined with columnar compression and deduplication, this typically saves 90% of bandwidth vs. full-table dumps and drops end-to-end latency to sub-50ms.
What delivery guarantees does PRISM offer?+
Exactly-once by default on supported destinations (Snowflake, BigQuery, Postgres, Kafka), at-least-once elsewhere. Point-in-time replay is available on every pipeline — replay the last N hours to any destination without touching upstream.
How does PRISM handle schema drift?+
Automatically. New columns are added downstream, type changes are widened safely, deletions and renames are logged for human review. All schema events are captured in an immutable audit log.
